Government Panel’s Chairman Prioritizes Input from Parents and Students in NEET-NET Chaos

Former ISRO chairman K Radhakrishnan, leading a high-level committee set up by the Ministry of Education, aims to address the concerns of parents and students regarding examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), as reported by leading media house Indian Express. The seven-member committee, which includes experts from various fields, held its first meeting on Monday and plans to gather suggestions over the next two weeks. Radhakrishnan emphasized that engaging with students and parents is the top priority, followed by establishing a robust testing system. The committee is expected to present its findings within two months.

The committee consists of seven-members who in their first meeting on Monday decided to work on the suggestions received in the next two weeks.

Radhakrishnan said to DD News, “The first priority for us is to elicit from the students and parents in the country their concerns and suggestions. We are going to engage with them as far as possible in person, or through electronic media. And in the next fortnight, we would like to consolidate this,”.

He further clarified that the next priority will be the formation of a “robust” system for beginning the scheduled tests. This step has been worked on in order to provide a smooth system of testing for the country and to avoid any further hassles in the process. 

As per Indian Express, the committee constituted by the Ministry of Education on Saturday includes: Dr. Randeep Guleria, former director, AIIMS; Professor B J Rao, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Hyderabad; Professor Ramamurthy K, Professor Emeritus, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras; Professor Aditya Mittal, Dean Student Affairs, IIT Delhi; Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education; Pankaj Bansal, co-founder PeopleStrong and Board Member, Karmayogi Bharat.
